More and more, I'm finding nutrition to be the most important piece to having a really healthy horse. But it's so confusing with all the marketing and hype – come learn the facts!

The following day, on July 25th, Sally will be teaching her Equine Distal Limb Anatomy class at the same location.

This one day class explores the anatomy of the equine lower leg and foot. Students learn the correct terminology and names for the various structures that comprise the equine distal limb. The function of each structure is discussed, along with the influence that hoof balance has on these structures.

The class is divided into two parts: A classroom lecture featuring the "Glass Horse" interactive CD, and segments of "The Hoof: Inside & Out", a video produced by the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation.

A full dissection on a cadaver lower leg and hoof allows students to see the tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and bones.

While this class is taught with the hoof care professional in mind, riders, trainers and horse owners can also benefit from learning how their horses' feet and legs function, and the role of good hoof care in keeping them sound.

This clinic is $125 and also runs 9am-4pm.  Debbie Krimsley of Four Seasons Equine Wellness will be hosting Sunday's clinic.
